Dennis Berdis

  • A little about me and how I came to be in this business:

I graduated in 1993 from Georgia Southern University, and for over 22 I have been involved in sales, marketing, entrepreneurial, and general business services. In 2000 I became a licensed Real Estate agent and have since worked  in various aspects of the Real Estate business. However, in 2007 I became permanently disabled and lost the use my legs due to contracting West Nile Virus. I was in a Coma for 6 weeks and had to spend 2 months in a recovery hospital. I do receive Social Security Disability income, but it is not enough for basic monthly expenses, which is why I am back working in real estate. While I am completely independent, drive, and have complete use of my upper body, this experience greatly affected my life. I am now able to use my extensive real estate experience to help others who need a fresh start, and because being a rebate Realtor is all I do, unlike many buyer's agents who offer rebates, I am able to dedicate large amounts of time and take very good care of all my clients. It also affords me great flexibility in developing a home rebate program that is good for you as an individual and also in arranging to view homes when it is most convenient for you.

Besides working as a rebate Realtor, I try to be very involved in the community. I am a guest speaker for Mercer University's Masters Degree program for Vocational Rehabilitation. I speak 2-3 hours per class to various classes about personal and other disabled experiences not known to the public in general. I am also a Mercer University Advisory Committee Member for the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program. I have been able to volunteer for many programs to benefit others who are disabled either by simply visiting and spending time with them or by influencing the system to make changes toward fairness, such as participating on the "ADA Compliance Committee” or "FAN" (Fans with Accessible Needs) that resulted in changes on the part of city of Atlanta, Ticketmaster, and the Braves to help in accommodating the disabled and handicapped.
